COURSE OVERVIEW

Are you a photographer who’s thinking of adding dog portraits to your client offerings? This course will help you to simplify and refine your studio practice while you learn to create portraits with depth, emotion, and intention.

Through real-time sessions and open instruction, I’ll walk you through my process — from the time the client and their dog arrive at my studio right through to my final retouching.

During each of the three live sessions in this course, I photograph a single dog. The equipment and my lighting set up I use is very simple. In two of the three sessions, I shoot with only one strobe light in a softbox. This single light set up is the lighting I use for the majority of my dog portraits. Toward the end of the course, I also do an overview session of a 3-light set up showing how rim lighting can add dimension to your dog portraits.
